We are pleased to have secured this important brownfield site and look forward to positively redeveloping the site. The site once operated as the Crown Closures factory, for the design and manufacturing of food packaging. The former factory buildings remain on the site.
The site is allocated in the Poole Site Specific Allocations and Development Management Policies Development Plan Document 2012 as a site suitable for housing. This policy position has been further strengthened in the Pre submission draft Poole Local Plan, where the site is identified for approximately 155 homes including a care home with a minimum of 60 bed spaces. The draft plan is to be formally submitted by the Borough of Poole to the Planning Inspectorate for Examination in Public in late autumn 2017 with adoption by spring/summer 2018.
The scheme proposes to demolish the existing industrial buildings on the site and construct 104 residential homes ranging from 2-4 bedroom homes and apartments. The residential development would have a primary access onto Lake Road. The scheme also proposes a 66-bed care home on the corner of Hoyal Road and Lake Road.
We held a public consultation event with the local community on our proposals on Thursday 20th July 2017
This public exhibition provided residents the opportunity to have their say on our draft proposals for the site.
We welcome your comments and feedback, which will be considered by the design team and used to inform
the proposals for the redevelopment of the site. To view a copy of the exhibition please click on the links in the
